Viking families,
Students in third, fourth, and fifth grades will take part in required State Testing (GSA) in May. Math on May 5th, English/Language Arts on May 7th, Writing on May 12th, and Science (5th-only) on May 14th. These assessments will begin at 8:50. To ensure optimal performance, please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep and arrives at school on time. It is important to note that the assessment must be completed within one school day. If your child requires an early dismissal or a late arrival on any testing day, kindly contact the school in advance, so we can arrange an alternative testing date. We appreciate the hard work our students have put in throughout the year, and we eagerly anticipate seeing the results of their efforts. Thank you for your continued support!

Let's recognize our Viking scholars who earned academic honors and those with perfect attendance in the third quarter! Great work! None of this would be possible without our dedicated, supportive families!

Viking Parents gave our students a great surprise for student appreciation week! The kids loved them and we cannot say thank you enough! We’re so proud and grateful to be Vikings in this amazing and supportive community!

This contains two messages.
1. Tomorrow is our Walk, Run, Bubble Fun walk-a-thon. Students will walk for 30 minutes. Please make sure your child wears appropriate shoes. The weather looks cooperative, but we'll update asap with changes. Sponsor forms went home last week and are due, with money collected, April 23rd. Families are encouraged to attend at the track behind the school at the scheduled time: grades 2/3: 12:20, K/1: 1:35, & 4/5: 2:30.
2. 3rd-5th grades, please check folders for a letter regarding encouragement notes. Please take a moment to write a note of encouragement & return it to school. Your words will help your student feel supported as they begin testing.
Thank you!

Reminder, Spring Break starts next Monday 4/14 for students.

Huge thanks to Mr. Tim and Towngate Theater for bringing the stage to life at school today! They presented Aesop's Fables with the help of some Viking actors. We learned some valuable lessons and had so much fun in the process!

While we just wrapped up an amazing food drive with the Salvation Army (thank you!), we're partnering with the Warwood United Methodist Church for their annual Easter Basket drive to benefit our Warwood community. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference!

Good morning, again!
Our phones and Internet are working! Have a great day, Vikings!

Good morning,
Warwood Elementary is currently having phone and internet issues. We are working with the phone company to regain access as soon as possible. In the meantime, please message the school through Facebook or message Mr. Demarest through Schoology if you need to contact the school. We will update you as soon as the error is corrected.

Authors unite! Second graders had the unique opportunity of connecting with children's book author, Jennifer Keats Curtis, through a Zoom call during their family night. The author talked to the families about her research and writing process. The students also had several questions for her. Then, students got to share their very own published books with their families. Each class had worked to write and illustrate a book. At family night we celebrated our authors with a book reading and autograph session. What a great experience for our young authors!

Good evening Viking families,
Reminder that tomorrow is the deadline to complete the the parent/guardian online survey about their students' School Learning Environment. Families can access the survey at:

Family login code: P064214.
The results of this survey will be used to make changes in our school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. Thanks!

2nd grade enjoyed a wonderful day visiting Wheeling University’s Micronauts Mission. After reading about space and people that make space travel possible, this field trip was a great experience to wrap up these lessons!
