Good morning Viking families,
Our functional exercise has begun, and students are in a PRACTICE lockdown. Mr. Demarest and their teachers have reviewed procedures and assured students that they are safe. In a real emergency, we have contacts prepared to alert families through this same program. We will share in the same way when the practice is complete. Thank you!

Taking an engaging look at the political process, 4th grade held their own election by reading the children's book, "Duck for President". They completed a graphic organizer on Farmer Brown and Duck's points of view on how to run a farm. The students made campaign signs and voted. Duck won in a landslide 31-11.

SAVE THE DATE!
We know starting in PK and Kindergarten can feel spooky for both our littles and our grown ups. We've got your back!
1/11/25, join us at Tiny Patriots!
Tiny Patriots, geared towards children ages 0-4, will be hosted at the Ohio County Public Library.
Downstairs, families can find various community resource booths geared towards parents and young children. You'll be able to learn more about Ohio County Schools early childhood programming, B-3, WVU Medicine, Science of Reading, Communities in Schools, Head Start, and Oglebay Institute (just to name a few)!
Stay tuned as we highlight our vendors, introduce our activities, and showcase some swag!
Upstairs, fun activities for littles will be held on a half hour rotation.
Keep your eyes peeled for registration information at the end of the month!
We are never too young to come together for kids!

Red Ribbon Week was a blast here at Warwood Elementary! We kicked the festivities off with Corporal Martin and his K9 partner Ozzy! Students and staff joined in the fun while sporting cool hats, socks, sunglasses, red, and green. Lessons on staying healthy and being drug-free were thought provoking and helpful. Thanks to everyone for making this week memorable! The staff really did a fantastic job!
