What a fun day to wrap up an exciting week at Warwood Elementary! We highlighted literacy throughout Read Across America Week and held exciting jump rope and hula hoop contests after students worked hard during American Heart Month! Let’s not forget the winners from February's RED (Read Every Day) folders who had the chance to Pie the Principal during the competition! Great work, Vikings!

Good evening Viking families,
Every year, parents and guardians are asked by the West Virginia Department of Education to complete an online survey about their students' School Learning Environment - the learning and teaching/working conditions - to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in our school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any device with an internet connection. Families can access the survey through March 14th at: https://forms.office.com/r/jmP9p9p10b Family login code: P064214. We have a sample survey available for review in the main office, if you'd prefer to view it in advance. Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions! Thanks!

We weren’t joking when we said we were fully “booked” this week! Kindergarten-5th grade students all welcomed guest readers into their classes today to talk about the importance of reading and have a book read to them. Sending a huge thank you to Dr. Miller, Mrs. Butyn, Mr. Subasic, Mrs. Demarest, Mr. Garber, Kaiden Davis, and Landon Lewis for carving out a chapter of their day for joining us! Stay tuned for preschool guest reader pictures to come! Looking forward to see more Viking friends and family at parent/teacher conferences, LSIC, and the Viking Parent meeting this evening!

Good evening Viking families,
This notification contains two messages.
1. Reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, March 4th, we will have several opportunities to join us at school: Parent-Teacher Conferences are from 4:00-6:00pm. Also, the Local School Improvement Council will meet at 6:00pm and Viking Parents will meet at 6:30pm in the elementary cafeteria.
2. Sarris Candy orders are due tomorrow, March 4th, for the Viking Parents fundraiser.
Reach out to the school if you have any questions! Have a great evening!

What better way to learn history than to bring it to life! Following their reading unit that included several biographies, Warwood second graders each chose a historical figure to research. They learned to take notes and turn them into a report. Then, they created a backdrop to represent their person. Finally, they became a living wax museum. Visitors explored the museum as the students shared information about their lives and accomplishments and gave advice to the visitors. We’re so proud of their great work!

Are you busy next week? We'll be fully BOOKED with Read Across America Week activities! We're excited to celebrate reading throughout the week. Note some optional fun dress days:

Good evening Viking families. Sarris Candy forms were sent home last week with students for the Viking Parents' fundraiser. Please note that the forms incorrectly have 2 codes on them: the correct code is 12-1705 (it says Middle but is for both schools). Everything else should be accurate! Have a great evening!
