Due to recent school cancellations, we will not hold our scheduled SAIL Assembly tomorrow.

To prioritize instructional time, the event will not be rescheduled. However, students will still receive their award certificates, and accomplishments will be recognized at the SAIL Assembly in June.

We’re proud of our students’ hard work and appreciate your understanding!

Building strong readers, one sound at a time! Here are some of our scholars using Elkonin boxes and hands-on manipulatives to strengthen their phonics skills. By stretching out words, they are learning to: • Segment consonant blends (like bl, st, tr) • Listen for and identify vowel sounds • Connect sounds to letters • Build accuracy in reading and spelling This structured, multisensory approach helps students see, say, and move each sound, deepening their understanding of how words work.

Good evening, Viking families,

We had a strong and successful first day back with our students, and we appreciate the positive start to the new year. We would like to share one update regarding our PBIS procedures. When a student does not meet daily expectations, they will bring home a purple notification sheet. This is not intended as a punitive measure, but rather as a communication tool to help clarify expectations and highlight any areas where additional support may be needed. Please review, sign, and return the sheet to school the following day.

Thank you!

2nd grade families had a fantastic time at their family night. We want to give a huge thank you to Autumn and Brittany from West Virginia Public Broadcasting for leading this STEM night. Students looked at different bridges in West Virginia. Then they got to build their own and test them for strength and stability.
