Tonight's BOE Parade of Champions recognized Warwood Elementary School Mrs. Heather Puglisi. Puglisi attended the STEM Pioneers Teacher Corps program this summer, and is working over the next few years to train elementary teachers in our area on additional STEM opportunities for students.
"The STEM Pioneers Summer Institute 2026 is a week-long professional development at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Over the course of the institute, she engaged in extensive learning experiences focused on energy and engineering. The teachers explored the various energy sources and identified the locations of energy production within the three-state region. They also examined and implemented classroom activities specifically designed to engage K-5 students in engineering practices that promote learning about energy. Additionally, they received leadership training designed to strengthen her capacity to lead STEM education efforts in your school and community."
We can't wait to see Mrs. Puglisi share what she's gained with other local elementary teachers!
